Wasabi Encrusted Tuna

From Zeroasterisk

ingredients

  • main
    • Tuna steaks (~8-12 oz / person) - the fresher the better
      • have used salmon instead
  • veggie stir-fry side-dish (optional)
    • Onion
    • Mushroom
    • Broccoli
  • sause
    • Wasabi (x) - paste or powder (pref. paste)
    • Soy Sause (x/2) -
      • (optional) Eel BBQ Sause (x/2) - if you use this, the result will be a bit sweeter... reduce the amount of soy sause used significantly.
    • Ground ginger & Garlic to taste - perhaps 1-2 teaspoons each, for 4 servings.
    • Seaseme Oil (x/10) - just add a bit of this, perhaps 1 teaspoon for 4 servings

instructions

Mix Wasabi, Soy Sause,Eel BBQ Sause, Ground ginger & Garlic. Add other ingredients for variations, if you want.

Allow the tuna to marinate in this mixture for at least 30 minutes or more. Marinate the veggies if you want.

Sear the Tuna in the skillet until all sides and surfaces are cooked. Then broil the Tuna for ~ 10 minutes (longer if thicker or not done in center).

While the tuna is broiling, use the left over sause and add some extra soy sause and oil to stir-fry the veggies.

If done correctly, the tuna should be done at the same time as the stir-fry, and it will be ready to serve. Pickled ginger is a good companion to this meal (because of the wasabi).
